Matthew Cook (Sri Mat) A Yogi for over 30 years, the creator of world peace yogis website and teacher of world peace meditation. Mat has had profound experiences during his yoga journey and shares from a diverse background of both ancient and contemporary yoga healing and meditation traditions, blending both academic learning and practical spiritual experience. He feels there is a continuing internal conversation going on in all, an integration of Cultural knowledge and embodied wisdom which rests in a greater infinite experience of peace and presence. Sri Mat believes that the nature of peace is universal to all no matter what Culture, Race, Religion or belief system you hold. He invites you to join him for world peace yoga, sitting in peace together, an opportunity for inner transformation, movement towards embodiment and sharing of more peace in the world.

Matthew Cook (Sri Mat) A Yogi for over 30 years, the creator of world peace yogis website and teacher of world peace meditation. Mat has had profound experiences during his yoga journey and shares from a diverse background of yoga healing and meditation traditions, while balancing academic learning and practical spiritual experiences. He has studied in Art, Design, Law and Psychology, Permaculture and sustainable Community development. Mat has recently returned from several long walks, European Camino’s and the Te Araroa trail in New Zealand a walk of more than 3000 km and over 5 months in Nature which is a long time, but short in comparison to Nanak’s great journeys. His yoga experience includes Kundalini teacher training with Mahanraj, he is a certified yoga teacher, in Hatha, Ashtanga Iengar and Krishna mixes, a Reki Master, with some training in massage and Zen tai. He is inspired by the wisdom of Indigenous Cultures, including the Saints and Sages of India as well as New Age literature and teachers. He also draws on experience from traditions such as Mahayana Buddhism, Theravadian, Kamakagui, Zen Osho, and Vipassana, as well as Christianity, Islam, Hunduisim Raja Yoga, and Tai Chi. He draws on deep spiritual life changing experience and a profound connection with nature, and feels there is a continuing internal conversation going on, an integration of Cultural knowledge and embodied wisdom which rests in a greater experience of peace and presence. Sri Mat believes that the nature of peace is universal to all no matter what Culture, Race, Religion or belief system you hold.
